Computers & Internet

Computers

The library has 10 public computers -- 6 for searching the library catalog and online databases, 4 for Internet use and for word processing. You must have a library card in good standing to log on to the computers. Out-of-town visitors may purchase a visitor's library card which includes use of computers and Internet access. Aina Haina Library staff is unable to provide support for the public computers, other than troubleshooting connection or printing issues. Patrons are expected to use the computer workstations without staff assistance. Games, chat rooms, music downloading, and video streaming are not permitted. The 4 Internet computers have the following software programs installed:

  • Internet Explorer (web browser)
  • OpenOffice (software suite including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, and databases)

Printing is 15 cents per page. Printing is not guaranteed. Due to limited resources or printer maintenance, printing may periodically become unavailable without notice.

Internet Access

The Library offers free Internet access for HSPLS library card holders. Patrons are allowed one 60-minute session each day. Users of our Internet access must conform to our Internet Rules Policy as posted in the Reference area. Parents are responsible for supervision of their children's Internet sessions.
