Hardcore Inventing in Hawaii

Dr. Robert Yonover, author of “Hardcore Inventing in Hawaii,” will present to students and parents the world of inventing and innovation through his Creative Institute of Technology (CIT). The event will include a slide show and hands-on demonstrations of survival gear that was invented here in Hawaii and is now used by militaries and civilians all over the world.
 
Dr. Yonover received his Ph.D. in Geochemistry/Volcanology from the University of Hawaii School of Ocean & Earth Science Technology with laboratory research at NASA Johnson Space Center and MIT. His high visibility locating device, the RescueStreamer®, is now in use by all branches of the U.S. military and is credited with four lives saved to date (2 civilians and 2 Americans in combat). Dr. Yonover has appeared on CNN, Discovery Channel, and PBS as an inventor, scientist, and volcanologist.
