Oahu Wind Quintet Concert

While you are visiting our Holiday Book Sale, don't miss the chance to attend this special concert by O'ahu Wind Quintet! The members of this versatile ensemble are Jonathan Higa Flute, Benjamin Peters, Oboe, Ronald Hirai, Clarinet, Thomas Edwards, Bassoon,  and Benjamin Gascon, French Horn.  Each member has been making music as a life-long commitment, performing, directing and teaching in Hawaii and on the Mainland.  These performers take part in other ensembles as well including: the O’ahu Civic Orchestra, O’ahu Chamber Orchestra, the Honolulu Community Concert Band, the Kamuela Philharmonic and Mango Season.

The program features works ranging from Darius Milhaud to Daiske Mogi, each piece being based on music from a variety of different cultures - all put in the context of the wind quintet.  The content is meant for all ages, and is intended for enjoyment and exploring different genre of chamber music.  Through these selections, the quintet will take the audience on a colorful journey, reflecting a beauty inspired from around the world.
