Mr. Kevin Mulkern, owner of Mulkern Landscaping and Nursery and member of Kulouou Kalani Iki Neighborhood Board, generously donated his time and expertise to assist us in the library’s landscaping project, from selecting suitable plants for our environment to maintaining them into the future. Being familiar with the library and its surroundings for many years, he is particularly fond of the lignum vitae trees in front of the library—“they do a great job softening the building eave line and when they bloom the blue flowers are stunning.” We couldn’t agree with it more. We are pleased to announce the grand opening of the library's new landscape! Taking several years of planning and consultation, the project was funded by the Friends of the Aina Haina Public Library, designed and completed in January 2015 by Aloha Aina Landscaping, LLC. We would like to thank our Friends and Aloha Aina Landscaping for making our front yard a beautiful and inviting space!
