The Art of Taiko with Kenny Endo

Master taiko drummer Kenny Endo and his Taiko Center of the Pacific ensemble will demonstrate and discuss taiko in group and festival drumming. Learn about the different drums and  percussion instruments of Japan as used in traditional and contemporary music. Kenny Endo and his ensemble have performed extensively all over the United States and throughout the world. This 45-minute program is recommended for ages 5 and older. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Make and take these beautiful Christmas earrings for yourself or as gifts! Amanda from BeaDazzle will teach you how to. Materials and tools will be provided. Earrings are made of sterling silver, crystal beads and other materials. Class is limited to 30 participants, 10 participants for each of the three sessions.

Library's 55th Anniversary

Aina Haina Public Library is scheduled to celebrate its 55th Anniversary on Wednesday, October 18 with special events during its normal hours of operation, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Following is the event schedule:

10 a.m.-5 p.m. - Memories of Old Aina Haina Display. Public is welcome to submit in print at the reference desk photos and narratives of Aina Haina as it used to be. Photos can be scanned and returned right away.

1 p.m-3 p.m. - Anniversary cake and beverages will be served in front of the library.

3 p.m.-4:30 p.m. - Balloon twisting by Balloon Monsoon in front of the library.
