Creative Coding 4 Kids

Time:
Wednesday, October 5, 2016 - 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Location:
Meeting Room

Coding is about breaking a big idea into small codable arts, and solivng complex puzzles and problems with clever solutions, with many possible "right" answers. Harnessing students own motivation is key, because it helps kids overcome the inevitable frustration of coding. Real coding is much more about debugging than writing code. Learning to fail, then debug, then succeed, teaches emotional resilience, a crucial life skill. Anna Leonid from Creative Coding 4 Kids will teach children 8-12 years of age to write their own custom video games, using Scratch developed at MIT specifically to teach kids to code. Space is limited to 12 per class. Please call or visit the library and sign up at the reference desk.
