Afterschool Teen Movie with Snacks

Teens grades 6-12 are invited to come relax and enjoy free snacks in the Meeting Room while we show a hit movie!

Our movie licensing agreement does not allow us to reveal the movie title via website, but feel free to call or ask us in person during library hours to find out what we will be showing.  Hint: It's the 2015 sequel starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner about an all-star team of superheroes battling their A.I. nemesis Ultron.  This movie is rated PG-13.

Harmonica Recital featuring Danilo Marrone

Enjoy the versatile sounds of the harmonica during this entertaining and informative show, great for all ages.  Danilo Marrone will open your ears and minds to this much beloved instrument that can be heard in all genres of music.  This performance and Q&A session may even move you to try it out for yourself.  Bring your harmonica if you have one!

Make-an-Angel Craft Class

Last year, the lovely ladies of Lei 'Ilima Club showed us how to make an angel out of a recyclable paper bag; this year they are back to show us how to make an angel out of a different type of recyclable material--greeting cards!  These eco-friendly angels work perfectly as centerpieces, tree toppers, ornaments, or gift wrapping accents.  All craft materials will be provided, courtesy of Lei 'Ilima Club.

This activity is intended for adults & seniors, though teens are welcome too.  Children ages 8+ must be accompanied by an adult.

Space is limited.  Reserve your spot today by signing up at the Reference Desk or by calling 377-2456 during library hours (Tues 1-8, Wed-Sat 10-5). 

Star Wars Reads Day

This annual nationwide event for kids, teens, and adults is sponsored by Lucasfilms and its publishing partners. 

Receive a giveaway just for coming!  Choose from a collectibile card with press-out BB-8 stand-up figure, assorted posters, sampler reader with excerpts from Star Wars books, bookmarks, and other freebies.  One per person, while supplies last.
