Jungle Tales with Antonio Rocha

The jungles of Brazil and Africa come to life as Antonio Rocha evokes the sights and sounds of the rainforest and its wildly entertaining inhabitants, uniquely blending movement with precision-paced storytelling and amazing sound effects.
Rocha, a native of Brazil, began his performing arts career in 1985. His unique solo shows of stories and mime have been performed at various public libraries throughout the United States and at national and international storytelling festivals. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from the University of Southern Maine and studied with the late Marcel Marceau, one of the world's best know mime artists.

Get Your Family Legal Affairs Organized

Aina Haina Public Library is scheduled to host “Get your family legal affairs organized” by Scott Suzuki, J.D., M.P.H., a free informational program on Saturday, July 28 at 10:30 a.m. in the meeting room.
Scott Suzuki, an attorney in private practice and a volunteer attorney with the University of Hawaii Elder Law Program (UHELP), assists senior and disabled clients with a wide range of legal concerns, including estate planning, guardianships, public benefits and elder abuse. He has worked as a gerontologist for over a decade, including employment with the Scripps Gerontology Center, the Center on Aging of Southwestern Ohio, and the Hawaii Executive Office on Aging. He will address the following topics:

Get Ready for Summer Reading!

Don't miss the upcoming Summer Reading Programs for children, teens and adults. Registration is accepted from May 29 at the library, and the five-week programs will be held from June 5 through July 7. How does it work? Just read at least one book a week, come to the Reference Desk and log in your title to get a prize. Special drawings will be available for all age groups. Also, check out the special programs offered through our Calendar link. The Summer Reading Programs are offered systemwide every summer and special programs are held at various libraries.
