Do you suffer from asthma, allergies, breathing difficulties, eczema, and/or depression? In Chinese Medicine, each internal organ is related to a particular season. By taking care of that organ during its season, you can better maintain your health. The autumn season is related to the lungs. In this lecture, Mei-Lin Maunakea will share the functions of the Lung organ in Chinese Medicine and discuss how to protect it with nutrition and acupressure points.
Join us as registered dietician Rita Madden returns to Aina Haina Public Library for another of her popular cooking demonstrations! In this session, learn ways to manage diabetes through simple cooking and shopping techniques. This class is also great for non-diabetics who want to cook healthily.

Sign up for the 2014 Summer Reading Program at the Reference Desk! The Summer Reading Program will be held from June 3 through July 12, 2014 and everyone is encouraged to sign up. Just read one book each week to become eligible for weekly incentives. Look out for the special programs and contests during this six-week period.
Mark your calendar! The much anticipated Annual Book Sale by the Friends of the Aina Haina Public Library is scheduled on Friday-Saturday, May 2-3, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.! A large selection of used books, CDs and DVDs will be available at bargain price. Look for the sale stations in front of the library, the ongoing book sale area and the meeting room. All proceeds raised will benefit the Aina Haina Public Library for programs, library materials and office supplies. For more information, call the library at 377-2456.
